IndyCar: Hunter-Reay tops final practice at Sonoma
Andretti Autosport-Honda’s Ryan Hunter-Reay led an American 1-2-3 in second practice for the GoPro GP of Sonoma, but behind him, the prime Verizon IndyCar Series title contenders were all in the top five. Hunter-Reay, who won last time out at Pocono but has yet to score a road/street course win in 2015, lapped the 2.52-mile course at Sonoma Raceway in 1min16.8702sec, which equates to an average of 111.695mph. That was just a hair quicker than Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing-Honda’s Graham Rahal who heads into this weekend’s race 34 points behind championship leader Juan Pablo Montoya.
