INDYCAR: Engine manufacturers in for another season of inspired development
Page 1 of 2 IndyCar's year on/year off rotation for significant engine upgrades has Chevy and Honda preparing for another fun season where a lot of new go-fast part will be introduced. The current 2.2-liter turbocharged V6 formula was brought online in 2012 at considerable cost, and to keep development expenditures under control, IndyCar set its rules to have minimal upgrades for 2013. Greater freedoms were allowed in 2014 (BELOW), and another return to restricted updates followed in 2015 (ABOVE). Chevy, in partnership with Ilmor Engineering, and Honda, with its in-house Honda Performance Development firm, have a much bigger list of development options to explore in 2016 which should push...
