IndyCar postpones Texas race until August
The Verizon IndyCar Series has pushed back the rain-delayed Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway until August 27. The race was halted for storms at lap 71 of the 248-lap race. It will resume from lap 72, on the evening of Saturday, August 27, around 7pm. “It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t finish the race this weekend due to the weather conditions,” said Jay Frye, IndyCar president of competition and operations. “Everyone at IndyCar and Texas Motor Speedway is committed to putting on a great show when we return on Aug. 27.” Schmidt Peterson Motorsport’s James Hinchcliffe will start from pole, followed by Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport), Mikhail Aleshin (SPM), Will Power...
