IndyCar boss Mark Miles says that the continuity that is built into the newly released 2017 schedule needs to be a cornerstone of the series' future plans. In contrast to recent years, where venue and date changes have been commonplace from one season to the next, the 2017 calendar is very similar to this year's, with the only significant change being the return of Gateway after a 14-year-absence.
