On the site where he scored his first victory 10 years ago, Marco Andretti topped the third practice session at Sonoma Raceway, continuing Andretti Autosport-Honda’s strong weekend. With a new-tire run that produced a 1min16.3052sec, Andretti headed a 1-3-5-7 for his father’s team, with Ryan Hunter-Reay, Carlos Munoz and Alexander Rossi next up. Filling in the gaps were Team Penske-Chevrolet’s Juan Pablo Montoya, who was just 0.07sec shy of beating Andretti to top spot, and championship contenders Will Power and Simon Pagenaud.
