Schmidt Peterson signs Pro Mazda champ Urrutia
Santiago Urrutia will graduate to Indy Lights to join RC Enerson in the lineup at Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. Motorsport.com has learned that the Uruguayan, who is testing with Schmidt Peterson on Miami Homestead’s road course today and tomorrow, has inked a deal with the Indy Lights team that has produced seven champions in the last 12 years. Urrutia scored three wins and seven other podium finishes for Team Pelfrey on his way to the 2015 Pro Mazda title, which earned him a scholarship of $590,300.
