Pro Mazda Champ Santi Urrutia Joins SPM in Indy Lights
After a strong showing at the recent Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires test at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports confirmed that 2015 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires champion Santi Urrutia will join the team for the 2016 season. Urrutia, who entered the Mazda Road to Indy in 2015 as a relative unknown and ended the year as a champion, will look to take the #55 Mazda Racing soul red machine to yet another championship. The 19-year-old Uruguayan racer will look to capitalize on the momentum built up during the 2015 season, claiming ten podiums, four wins, and two pole positions on his way to winning the Mazda Road to Indy scholarship.
