Simon Pagenaud on top in Phoenix
Saturday afternoon testing at Phoenix International Raceway ended with Simon Pagenaud putting Team Penske on top as five cars hit average speeds above 190mph. Pagenaud lapped the 1.022-mile tri-oval at 190.747mph, just 0.0033mph faster than Ed Carpenter Racing duo, Josef Newgarden and Ed Carpenter, heading up a session dominated by Chevrolet-powered cars. Tony Kanaan rebounded from a quiet Friday with fourth fastest in the Chip Ganassi Racing #10 entry, narrowly eclipsing Team Penske’s Will Power.
