Graham Rahal pounded the wall at Homestead in testing at Homestead in 2008 and had to forgo the season opener a couple days later. James Hinchcliffe's first foray into turning left wound up against the wall at Indianapolis in 2011. And Dario Franchitti began his IndyCar career in 1997 on the back of a wrecker at Homestead.
