Daly fast again amid Gateway track issues
Conor Daly led the first abbreviated Gateway test session during the early afternoon in his A.J. Foyt Racing Chevy, and held onto P1 in an even shorter evening session that was cut short due to lingering track surface issues. Twenty-one Verizon IndyCar Series drivers took to the 1.25-mile Gateway oval on Tuesday for what was meant to be a pair of three-hour sessions, but chronic problems with the track in Turns 1 and 2 limited the running time during the first outing. After an extended break, the field emerged in the later afternoon for the second session – one that would transition through dusk, but drivers were met with the same kind of surface issues, this time in Turns 3 and 4....
